Before the advent of modern methods of cooking the ice cream was considered as luxurious delicacy, because the technology was rather time-consuming and painstaking.
And the first published ice cream recipe dates back to 1718 year, in the collection of Mary Eales recipes, who released it in London.

So, ice cream from Biljana, chef Angelato café:
- 1⅕ cup whole Milk
- 1⅕ cups heavy Cream
- ½ cup Ground Poppy Seeds
- 4 large Egg Yolks
- ⅔ cup Sugar
- 2 cups Unpeeled Pitted Plums
- ⅓ cup Sugar
- ⅓ cup Freshly-Squeezed Lemon Juice
- Stir together the cream, milk and poppy seeds in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Bring just to a boil, then turn off the heat.
- Beat the egg yolks and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer or hand-held electric mixer on medium-high speed for 5 minutes, until creamy.
- Reduce the speed to low; add one ladle of the cream mixture to the yolks, beating until incorporated, then gradually add the remaining cream.
- Place plums in a 1 quart baking dish, add sugar and lemon juice, tossing gently to coat.
- Pour the whole mixture into your ice cream maker. Then swirl with plums.
- Keep in the freezer until ready to serve.
