My name is Alex Liu. I‘m 34 and I was born in Hong Kong.
I have a guilty pleasure to pasta. I have always been a fussy eater when I was child, but pasta was one thing I could always eat –so I ate a ton of it during growing up.
I became a chef at 17. The entire male in my family were chefs but none of them treat it as a lifetime career. I want to be different.
Throughout my 17 years of chef career, I love cooking seafood the most. Because fresh seafood do not require much extra seasoning and only we focus on the original taste.
I also have a love affair toward French cuisine. French cuisines are extremely diverse and offer a variety of food to savor, each having its own distinctive taste. I like the small portion size. You never see European restaurant touting large portions to fill you up– It‘s the quality of the food that matter. An exquisite presentation is definitely a delight to your eyes and your taste buds too.
I love playing football; I was a player in Lan Kwai Fong football team 8 years ago. We used to practice on every Saturday morning with other chefs who were working in Lan Kwai Fong too. Unfortunately I once hurt my neck in a game and I stopped to play my favorite football again.
I feel joyful to work at Lan Kwai Fong. Lan Kwai Fong is a place always changing – that what make it so much fun. Always be ready for even more good times.
