Andrea Nori, born in Verona, learned to cook as a child with his parents, worked in the United States, Switzerland and France, and cooks at OK Bar & Italian Restaurant in Kyiv. His dream is a small restaurant by the sea in Italy.
My name is Andrea Nori, and I am Italian. I was born in Verona. I started cooking as a child, together with my parents. Then I finished culinary school in Italy and worked in the United States, Switzerland, France and Russia. For five years now I have worked not only as a chef but also as a brand chef: I develop new projects, and I train and supervise people in the kitchen.
If you want to become a chef, first of all you should love to cook, and secondly you should have a lot of different experience. Each country has its own tastes and its own level. The same dish, for example, can be prepared in different ways in different countries.
It is important to respect the traditions of the country where you are and to find a way to reach people. At work you have to be strict and kind at the same time. The most important thing is to find a balance, so that people respect you and enjoy working with you.
I love my country, but at the moment I work in Ukraine, because here I have the opportunity to grow. And I am happy here. My dream is a small restaurant in Italy, facing the sea.
I prefer Italian cuisine in all its variations. In every city each dish is prepared in its own way, but you need to know how to keep the real taste of the dish.
In my spare time I do sports, and I love to swim. I also love to draw. I have given most of my pictures to my family and to friends in different countries.
For the photo I made tuna tartare with tomato and bio-yoghurt. It is a light, fresh dish and popular in our restaurant, and our guests like to order it in summer.
